about
I wrote this song the other night about a friend of mine who has been hiding something for a long time... but this particular friend should have absolutely nothing to ever hide because she/he is so beautiful and I love her/him dearly.
PS: I literally recorded this on my iPhone and then added some piano... really shoddy quality and I apologise. I just wanted to share :-)
xx
lyrics
Your tears
Alight with fear
Is it so hard to love yourself?
You are better off here, I promise you dear
Why is it so hard to love yourself?
You're hiding all your light in little boxes
Hiding all your light
But if you go back
But if you go back home
Home where all of this
Home where all of this
But if you go back
But if you go back home
Home where all of this
Home where all of this is...
It'll take you down
Your lips
Are stained with myths
People don't know the truth they hold
You are better than this
I promise you darling
One day you will see a heart of gold
You're hiding all your light in little boxes
Hiding all your light
But if you go back
But if you go back home
Home where all of this
Home where all of this
But if you go back
But if you go back home
Home where all of this
Home where all of this is...
It'll take you down
And I don't know about you but I'll try to see behind your lies
If not my money problem I would have bought the CD version. The moment i heared "Child" it was clear to me, that I need more. My fav is "Not enough", because it takes a different approach on beeing alone. pikolowet
I'm always open-minded - and open-eared - for a good singer-songwriter album, especially if well-versed songwriting is paired with a strong and pleasant voice. Natalie Holmes matches this pattern just perfectly, and there's a lot more exquisite music to be discovered here, on her Bandcamp site. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024
